Summer Show at Valmi Gallery— 1595 Van Horne, Montreal

June 30 - July 5, 2023

15% of sales will be donated to the St. Justine Hospital

 

Vernissage: Saturday, July 1st, 2023 from 2 – 5 pm

 

Artists' submissions will be accepted from May 1 - June 10, 2023

 

Size Restriction for artworks: Works can be a maximum size of 40” x 40”.

Entry Fee: $40 (maximum 1 artwork)

Theme: “Marvelous Montreal”

There will be an award for Best by Theme, but all the other awards will be selected based on artistic merit alone.

Our esteemed Judge will be Pim Sekeris, super realist painter and former judge.

Voting for Artists' Choice and People's Choice awards will take place at Valmi Gallery on June 30 from 10am to 6pm and on July 1st from 10am to 3:45pm. 

Online Submission Details:

Starting May 1, 2023 you can send in your artwork photo with all the details (Title, Medium, Dimensions in inches and Price, or you can say “See artist for price.”).

The gallery can hold about 70 artworks; so, once we reach this number, we will not take in any more submissions.

This being the case, don’t wait for the deadline of June 10th to send in your work, as it may be too late! 

You can send in your entry fee of $40 by e-transfer to artistsinmontreal@gmail.com.

 

Artwork Drop-off:  Thursday, June 29th between 10am and 12pm at Valmi Gallery (1595 Van Horne)

 

1.     Artists can also bring in a small shoe box size container of their art greeting cards and/or small works on paper, to sell throughout the exhibit. Every item must have the artist’s name and the price on the back of the item.

 

2.     Artists who bring in a container of art cards, etc. must also hand in a paper with the inventory that is in their container, with item descriptions and prices.

 

3.     Artists must also bring in a short bio with details in point form and including a head shot of themselves and their artwork image with the details (1 page maximum). This will go in the binder of Artists’ Bios.

 

4.     Featured artists are required to sit for a 2-hour period during the time of the exhibit. Artists must put their name down on the Sitting Schedule during the drop-off time. 

 

Artwork Pick-Up: Wednesday, July 5th between 4pm and 6pm at Valmi Gallery (1595 Van Horne)
