Les couleurs sont mon principal mode d'expression. Je suis inspirée par les fauvistes, et en particulier par Matisse, Vlaminck, Derain et Van Dongen, qui utilisaient la couleur et non le dessin, comme il était d'usage dans l'art officiel à l'époque.

La peinture est pour moi une forme d’exploration, un voyage dans l'inconscient. Petite déjà, j’étais fascinée par l’univers infini des formes et des couleurs. Le dessin et le collage étaient un refuge au cœur du moment présent. Autodidacte, j'ai aussi appris à peindre au contact d'artistes que j'admire : Francine Labelle (peintre coloriste), Isis Duperré (peintre coloriste), Souren Yeretsian et Barry MacPherson. La peinture est aussi une amie qui me guide patiemment sur le chemin du lâcher prise.

Les techniques qui permettent de s'en remettre au hasard et à l'intuition sont celles que je préfère pour commencer une toile et la travailler. Peindre sans croquis et sans idée préconçue m'entraîne dans des eaux inconnues. Je connais rarement à l'avance la direction que va prendre une toile et sa destination finale. C'est ce qui me plaît et me motive.

Color is my main mode of expression. I'm inspired by the Fauvists, in particular Matisse, Vlaminck, Derain and Van Dongen, who used color rather than drawing, as was customary in official art at the time.

For me, painting is a form of exploration, a journey into the unconscious. Even as a child, I was fascinated by the infinite universe of shapes and colors. Drawing and collage were a refuge in the heart of the present moment. Self-taught, I also learned to paint from artists I admire: Francine Labelle (colorist painter), Isis Duperré (colorist painter), Souren Yeretsian and Barry MacPherson. Painting is also a friend who patiently guides me along the path of letting go.

Techniques that allow me to rely on chance and intuition are the ones I prefer for starting and working on a canvas. Painting without sketches or preconceived ideas takes me into uncharted waters. I rarely know in advance the direction a canvas will take and its final destination. That is what pleases and motivates me.
