Né en 1975 à Montréal, Sébastien est un artiste autodidacte passé maître dans les manipulations-photos complexes.

Sébastien est tombé très tôt dans la marmite des arts visuels. Après le secondaire, il s’est orienté vers des disciplines d’art visuel. En complément à une année d’études en design de présentation au Collège du Vieux-Montréal, il a obtenu un certificat en dessin publicitaire de l’Académie des arts de Montréal. Par la suite, une formation en animation 3D au Collège Inter-Dec lui a permis de découvrir un reel engouement pour l’art numérique et le graphisme.

En 2017, il a entrepris de se consacrer davantage à son art et depuis, il n’a pas cessé de peaufiner ses techniques. Plus récemment, en avril 2024, Sébastien a été accueilli au sein de la Mondial Art Academia, une Association française basée sur l’excellence et la sélection d’artistes de talent.

Combinant les aspects techniques de la retouche photo et la créativité de l'art numérique, la manipulation de photos se définit comme un amalgame entre la photographie, la conception graphique, le collage et l’édition. Cette technique exige une grande habileté et précision dans l’utilisation de Photoshop et d’autres outils de création, énormément de recherches et une sacrée dose de patience.

Le mot d’ordre de Sébastien, et le message qu’il souhaite véhiculer, c’est qu’au final cela n’a pas besoin d’avoir l’air vrai. L’essentiel est que l’image dise quelque chose, et surtout, qu’elle soit plaisante pour l’œil.

Born in Montreal in 1975, Sébastien is a self-taught artist who has mastered complex photo manipulation.

Sébastien was drawn to the visual arts at an early age. After high school, he turned to the visual arts. Complementing a year of studies in presentation design at Collège du Vieux-Montréal, he obtained a certificate in advertising design from the Académie des arts de Montréal. Subsequently, training in 3D animation at Collège Inter-Dec enabled him to discover a real passion for digital art and graphic design.

In 2017, he began to devote more time to his art, and he has never stopped refining his techniques since then. In April 2024, Sébastien was welcomed into the Mondial Art Academia, a French association based on excellence and the selection of talented artists.

Combining the technical aspects of photo editing with the creativity of digital art, photo manipulation is defined as an amalgam of photography, graphic design, collage and editing. This technique requires great skill and precision in the use of Photoshop and other creative tools, a great deal of research and a hell of a lot of patience.

Sébastien’s motto, and the message he wishes to convey, is that in the end it doesn’t have to look real. What’s important is that the image says something, and above all, that it’s pleasing to the eye.
