Lucie Lacava is a Canadian artist based in Westmount, working primarily in acrylics. Born in Italy and raised in Switzerland, she was introduced to watercolour at the age of five, an early experience that shaped her lasting love for fluidity, and light.

Lucie holds a BFA from Concordia University. Drawing on her background in visual communication, Lacava explores the relationship between beauty, impermanence, and perception. Her work bridges European heritage with contemporary North American influences through the emotional resonance of natural forms.

“My work explores the intersection of earthly beauty and the human condition. Using flora as a metaphor for strength and resilience, I reflect on the transient nature of existence—how forms open, reveal themselves, and change over time.”

Lucie Lacava est une artiste canadienne basée à Westmount, travaillant principalement à l’acrylique. Née en Italie et élevée en Suisse, elle découvre l’aquarelle dès l’âge de cinq ans, une expérience fondatrice qui nourrit durablement son amour pour la fluidité et la lumière.

Lucie est titulaire d’un baccalauréat en beaux-arts (BFA) de l’Université Concordia. S’appuyant sur sa formation en communication visuelle, Lacava explore les relations entre beauté, impermanence et perception. Son travail établit un dialogue entre son héritage européen et les influences contemporaines nord-américaines.

« Mes oeuvres explorent l’intersection entre la beauté terrestre et la condition humaine. En utilisant la flore comme métaphore de la force et de la résilience, je réfléchis au caractère transitoire de l’existence — à la manière dont les formes s’ouvrent, se révèlent et se transforment au fil du temps. »
