My father was in the air force during a time when families were frequently moved from one side of the country to the other. Often, as an only child for eight years, I would be left with my grandparents (who lived on an acreage on the Bay of Quinte) while the move took place. From five years on, I was given absolute freedom to roam in the woods, play on the shoreline and visit the horses who lived next door. This time in nature infused me with a deep love for all living things. It is my hope that, through my art, people will see my reverence and begin to look at their own world with fresh eyes and appreciate how connected we are to everything.

Mon père était dans l'armée de l'air à une époque où les familles étaient souvent amenées à déménager d'un bout à l'autre du pays. Souvent, en tant qu'enfant unique pendant huit ans, j'étais confié à mes grands-parents (qui vivaient sur un terrain d'un acre dans la baie de Quinte) pendant le déménagement. À partir de cinq ans, j'ai eu toute liberté pour me promener dans les bois, jouer sur le rivage et rendre visite aux chevaux qui vivaient à côté. Ce temps passé dans la nature m'a insufflé un amour profond pour tous les êtres vivants. J'espère que, grâce à mon art, les gens verront mon respect et commenceront à regarder leur propre monde avec un regard neuf et à apprécier à quel point nous sommes liés à tout.
