Self-taught, Montreal artist Peter W. Hart, fell in love with painting at the age of 39 while flipping through a book that included a reproduction of Degas' "Dancers". This painting was a revelation to him. It awakened a sudden and intense passion for art and in particular the works of the Impressionists. The play of light, as well as the use and juxtaposition of primary colors, still fascinate him to this day.

In his paintings, Hart crystallizes his moods, transposing his emotions onto canvas, wood, and other materials. Imbued with fiery energy, his works never leave the viewer unmoved. Vivid and expressive, his pieces are inspired by figurative paintings from another era but are eminently contemporary. His color palette, composed mainly of yellow, blue, and red, is radiant. Each stroke is lively and assertive, the texture rich, the movement compelling. Three decades later, painting has become a vocation to which he has devoted himself, forging a signature of his own.

Autodidacte, l'artiste montréalais Peter W. Hart est tombé amoureux de la peinture à l'âge de 39 ans en feuilletant un livre qui contenait une reproduction des "Danseuses" de Degas. Cette œuvre a été une révélation pour lui. Elle a éveillé en lui une forte passion pour la peinture, en particulier pour les œuvres impressionnistes. Les jeux de lumières, ainsi que l'utilisation et la juxtaposition des couleurs primaires le fascinent encore à ce jour.

Dans ses tableaux, Hart cristallise ses états d'âme, transposant ses émotions sur la toile, le bois et autres matériaux.
